Life, Edited v.1
A personal recap of what I’m doing, what I’m working on (or not), watching, and reading.
Three weeks ago, on a Monday morning, I picked up my phone from the shelf in my closet—where I keep it at night—and deleted the Instagram app. I didn’t have a specific reason. Nothing on there was particularly bothering me; I just felt like taking a break. (Though to be fair, I did have a few things in my life feeling a little "up in the air.")
And so, I disconnected.
And, surprisingly, I kind of forgot about it.
Until a friend texted me, asking what I’d been up to. Instead of responding with a quick reply, I called her. We caught up on life, and it felt good. The next week, I called her again—same easy, fulfilling conversation. I felt more connected than I had in a while.
Now, three weeks later, I just redownloaded Instagram to DM a friend I only know through the app. And with that, I’m re-evaluating how I want to use it. Maybe I’ll keep it deleted until I actually have something to share.
If we were to catch up in person, here’s what I’d want to talk about:
Pilates, Again
I’ve fallen head over heels for Pilates. Actually, in 2025, I unintentionally overhauled my entire workout routine, and I’ve been so much happier because of it. It all started after a calf injury that sidelined me for a while. I was doing jump lunges—specifically diagonal ones—when my calf tightened up, sending a shooting pain through my leg. I kept working out on it, hoping it would improve. (It didn’t.)
That injury forced me to slow down and switch to gentler workouts, and honestly? I can’t recommend it enough.
Severance Obsession
I couldn’t stop watching Severance—or deep-diving into the endless Reddit theories. At first, I hesitated to recommend it, unsure if it was for everyone. But as the episodes unfolded, I found myself waiting with bated breath for each new one. If you haven’t seen it yet, consider this your sign. And if you have, I want to hear your thoughts!
Funny story—my co-worker’s name is Mark, and his last name starts with S. Naturally, I’ve taken to calling him Mark S.(he doesn’t watch Severance), so I’m not sure he fully gets why I insist on adding that “S.” I’m just waiting for the day he finally asks!
The Magic of Longer Days
This year, for some reason, daylight savings didn’t hit me so hard. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t working that weekend, and got to sleep in, but I’m loving how it stays lighter later. Total game-changer with kids. We’ve been going on evening walks every night, and it’s the best way to wind down the day.
A Low-Buy Year (Kind Of)
I’m attempting a low-buy year. It hasn’t been a major success, but I’ve definitely spent less and saved more—and that counts for something, right? I also discovered an amazing boutique luxury consignment shop, and honestly? It’s perfect!
A Surprise Spring Break
In a twist I didn’t see coming, I unexpectedly got spring break off—after initially being denied during the annual request process. So a couple of weeks ago, the family headed to the West Coast to visit my sister and dad. And oh my gosh, it was a perfect trip.
We booked a little Airbnb with a pool right on the beach. I reactivated my ClassPass, thinking I’d squeeze in some workout classes, but I never ended up going. The Airbnb had a great gym, so my workouts were mostly walks and Peloton sessions. But more than anything, I was just excited to spend time with the kids.
So, that’s what I’ve been up to. What about you?
I jump on and off IG, too. I try to do the same with all the social platforms—have a reason for why I get on and try not to get sucked in and stay too long!
Thanks for the update! Sounds like you've been up to some enjoyable things!
